The NFL has moved Monday’s playoff game between the Vikings and Rams due to Los Angeles wildfires.
Game Relocated to State Farm Stadium
The wild-card game will now take place at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. This decision prioritizes public safety as wildfires engulf Los Angeles County.
The NFL announced the move in collaboration with public officials, participating teams, and the NFLPA.
Schedule and Broadcast Remain Unchanged
The game will be played at 8 p.m. ET as originally scheduled. Fans can watch it live on ESPN and ABC.
Ticket Information
Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. local time (1 p.m. ET) for Rams season ticket holders. General sales open at noon local time (3 p.m. ET) on SeatGeek.com.
SoFi Stadium Initially Expected to Host
The Rams had initially planned to host the game at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. However, the severity of wildfires forced the NFL to act.
Tens of thousands of residents have evacuated their homes due to the fires. This led the league to ensure the game proceeds in a safer environment.
A Historic Move
This marks the first non-Super Bowl postseason game at a neutral site in the Super Bowl era. While the NFL has relocated games before, it is unprecedented during the playoffs.
Rams coach Sean McVay referred to the situation as a “unique week.” The team had originally planned to play at SoFi Stadium despite challenges.
Safety Remains the Priority
The NFL’s decision reflects its commitment to safety and providing fans with an uninterrupted playoff experience.
