The Baltimore Orioles edged out the Kansas City Royals 3-2 in a close AL Wild Card Game 1 on October 2. Adley Rutschman’s solo homer in the sixth inning was the game-winner. Orioles’ pitcher Kyle Bradish delivered seven strong innings, striking out eight. Royals’ starter Brady Singer also pitched well, but the Royals couldn’t generate enough offense. The Orioles now lead the best-of-three series 1-0
